Sony pushes 4K over 3D with launch of 84-inch TV
Sony's big television reveal at its IFA keynote this week was not, thankfully, one with 3D as the main selling point. It was all about 4K -- the next step for ultra high-def TV.Jolly CEO Kaz Hirai showed off Sony's gargantuan 84-inch 4K LCD telly (officially the Sony Bravia KD-84X9005) at the end of his speech, highlighting that this is the first step in the company's global push behind 4K. More importantly, this is a product that will be going on sale this year -- it's not just for show.
